Open Sesame

A recent survey conducted over the past 12 months has revealed 3 top tips for marketers to improve their subject lines and get their emails opened and read...

1) SHOW VALUE IN THE FIRST TWO WORDS – Pushing the value of a newsletter in the first two words is key, especially when it conveys benefits for the subscribers. "Top 12," "Simple Email," "6 Actions" and "Your Copy" convey an actionable item to the subscribers and help boost open rates.

2) FIND THE RIGHT 'TRIGGER WORDS'  – Certain words or types of words can trigger response as much as the length of the subject line. A trigger can be a name, the use of numbers, number of characters, or use of an industry phrase...check out past activity to help figure out what "triggers" great responses from your own list.

3) WATCH THE HARD SELL – Minimizing the hard sell in the subject line can actually increase performance rates. Offer immediate value instead of asking subscribers to 'Buy Now' or 'Must See Offer.'
