Greetings Tushkateers! How y'all doing? I had a very pleasant week with the exception of one 'tiny' glitch. My computer went haywire, and a good chunk - like 99% - of my emails got wiped out! I tell you this, because some of you may have written to me and are awaiting a reply - or - I may have written to you and said that your email would be in this week's KICK ...but alas, it was wiped out. So sorry! I do love hearing from you, so please re-send!
Other than that minor - in the scheme of things - annoyance, all is well. The weather was spectacular for a few days, anyway - lots of walks to Central Park! And, needless to say, I am doing cartwheels now that daylight savings time is here. Spring is around the corner, Tushkateers!!! My favorite time of year!!! Can not wait!!! It's the little things that feed our soul! And YOU? WHAT FEEDS YOUR SOUL???
Before we head into this week's KICK, I am encouraging you to sign up for my Omega workshop, entitled "Our Lady of Weight Loss EnLIGHTens: Health, Happiness and Well Being!" It is going to be the best ever!!!! In addition, to blowing the fat cells out our mind, we are going to build an altar to Our Lady of Weight Loss and sacrifice our Twinkies! My workshops are more like transformational playshops. Please COME! If you have any questions, write me!
And now on to this week's KICK!!! Filled with sizzling stories, motivating musings, and a 'burger' recipe that kicks tush, big time!
And again, sorry for the email whip out ... Write me!
I know, I'm a little behind in the news. The lineup for Dancing With the Stars 2010 was announced last week (I think). I seem to remember a blurrrrr of 'hard news' around Kate Gosselin's decision to dance, child care challenges, and of course, her new hairdo. Then the Oscars took over the 'entertainment space' in my brain, along with the finale of Big Love.
Now that those life-changing events have passed, this morning, while sipping my coffee and perusing the headlines on-line, I surfed smack into BuddyTV.com and their slideshow of the DWTS pairings. From Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani, to Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood to Niecy Nash and Louis van Amstel! ... Read On!
For those of us who are hooked on watching the Academy Awards, because we love movies, the glitz of Hollywood, or just because it is a time-honored tradition, here follow the best 'award-winning' quotes from last night's Oscars.
And the Oscar for Best, Most Sincere, and Inspired Quotes goes to:
For the Moms ...
"I would like to thank what this film is about for me which are the moms that take care of the babies and the children no matter where they come from. Those moms and parents never get thanked." - Sandra Bullock, after winning the award for best actress. ... Read On!
I don't know about you, but both the springtime switch from standard-time to daylight-savings time, and visa versa, throws me for a loop. It can take my circadian rhythms about a week to straighten themselves out!
This year, however, I am hoping that it will be different! I have researched high n' low the best ways to gently, but swiftly, move my inner-clock to get into the daylight swing of it all. ... Read On!
Permanent Weight Loss isn't just about what we eat or how much we exercise! There are external factors at play that can and do influence the way you eat and how you burn your calories!
Score one for Einstein and then score one for Our Lady of Weight Loss! A new study has confirmed that Einstein's theory of general relativity works on extremely large scales. Researchers found that no matter how large the scale, the equation of general relativity predicts the way that mass pulls on other mass in the universe ... which leads us straight to the bathroom scale! ... Dear Our Lady of Weight Loss ~I know that I am an emotional eater and that every emotion will cause me to eat. When I am stressed, I eat; when I ambored, I eat; when I amlonely, I eat; when I talk to my ex, I eat; when I amhappy, I eat - etc etc. This has always been the case, but lately, I just can't stop eating. I feel like one of those addicts that clearly needs an intervention, and I hoping that you will intervene and help me to stop this pattern! ~ B.N.
Dear B.N. ~I am so pleased that you reached out for help. And I am hopeful that I can help you! This is indeed a pattern that you can STOP!!! And the first step is to step back and observe. Observe the language that you are using!!!
STOP Using Identity Statements. When we say "I am," we are making an identity statement. Identity statements go deep and stick. You wrote "I am stressed, bored, lonely, happy (yay)."
STOP Using Absolutes. You wrote, "every emotion will cause me to eat." Really? EVERY emotion? Will cause you?You wrote, "This has always been the case."Always? Each and every time??? Never an exception?
STOP Saying that You Can't. You wrote, "I just can't stop eating." Instead of saying, I can't, how about saying, "In this moment, I don't know how to stop." Once you shed the 'lite' on the truth; that it's not that you can't but rather than you don't know how, then you can begin to investigate how to stop.
I do hope that this 'intervention' was useful to you and to all who are reading it! Well done, B.N.! Keep us in your loop and let us know how you turned it around and got your 'upward spiral' in motion! ~ Janice aka OLofWL
Need to talk to a 'trained ear,' someone who can hear what you are saying and help you turn it around and get your upward spiral in motion? Write Janice, Life & Wellness Coach, for more information about her (telephone) coaching sessions and ask about her 4-week program.
It's not about your fat; it's about your life! I am inviting you to step out of your fat suit and into life!
