Tikkun Leyl Shavuot

A unique community-wide celebration and night of Torah study, a spiritual journey bringing together Jews with varied perspectives and affiliations. Stay for an hour--or stay until dawn. 2009 Annual Meeting
June 7, 2009 • 10:00am - 1:00pm
(Brunch/lunch included). The revised by-laws, based on the feedback we received at the meetings held last November, were approved by the Board on April 28th. Each member of the congregation will have access to the new by-laws in time to facilitate discussion and familiarity before a vote is taken at the meeting. We will have a new slate of candidates for your approval, and of course, we are also planning to have a financial report, including a discussion and presentation about our debt and budget followed by Q&A. Mark your calendars and plan to come and be a part of the action!
*The annual meeting is open to all congregants, however our Bylaws stipulate that "Each membership unit in good standing shall have the right to vote ..." and all such members will receive a ballot in the mail within ten days of the June 7th annual meeting. If you have any doubt as to your membership status for 2008/9, please email Suzanne Alexander right away, as you have until May 15, 2009 to renew your membership if needed. Please call or email Suzanne if you'd like to discuss any aspect of your membership at Congregation Beth El. No one will be denied membership because of their inability to pay full dues.
The Ruach Brigade Needs You!
• Help needed next week! We need a few hardy people (ideally with a truck or van, but we may be able to borrow one) to shlep chairs from Beth El to and from the Berkeley JCC for our shared Tikkun Leyl Shavuot program. They need to be taken to the JCC on Thursday, May 28 (ideally starting around 12:30 p.m.) and then returned to Beth El on Friday, May 29 (ideally in the morning, but o.k. starting by 3 p.m.). Can you help with one or both of these times?
•Are you coming to the Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 7? We need a few people to count ballots, and one more person to help with the lunch setup and clean up.
• There is a pile of table linens in Lom's office that needs laundering. Could you pick them up, wash them and return them to Beth El? This needs to be done occasionally, so if you could help with this on a periodic basis it'd be terrific.
