Dear OLofWL ~ When I am thin, I think I am heavier than I am; and when I am heavy, I think I am thinner than I am. When I lose a few pounds, I am so happy, but then I sabotage myself and gain them back. What's really going on here? Help please! ~ Stacey
Dear Stacey ~ I'm sure that there are many of us who can relate to your email! Interestingly enough, body image is not based on fact.It is psychological in nature, and it is primarily influenced by self-esteem rather than actual body size or physical attractiveness!
In order to develop a healthy body image; in order to get in touch with the size that you are, here are some guidelines:
Listen to Your Body. Pay attention to internal cues. Eat when you are hungry. Rest when you are tired. Stop eating when you are sated.
Practice Loving-Kindness.Works towards self-acceptance and self-forgiveness.
Ask for Support. When life is stressful, reach out and ask for help
Be Realistic.Follow a sustainable food plan! And reach for a reasonable and sustainable and healthy weight!
Appreciate.Your body can and does provide many pleasures.Be grateful!
At the end of the day, it's really about loving yourself, filling up on happiness and self-confidence. I hope that helps to shed some 'lite' on the subject! ~ OLofWL
I decided to use my good china for everyday, as it fits so very well in the very old cabinets in my kitchen. And gee, the big plates are 10" and the luncheon plates are only 8!" When I visit friends the new plates in THEIR kitchens are 12!!!" How did this happen? We don't need to eat from a 12" plate... And we certainly don't need to pile such a big plate high!
So, maybe getting out the old china isn't such a bad idea after all! The plates are just the right size. ~ Anniepie
Dear Anniepie ~ You make a good point. The 'old' dishes are the right size. When did the 'new' dishes get so big??? I don't know, but I would like to take this opportunity to encourage y'all to measure your plates! And then find a smaller one!!! ~ OLofWL
Here's an unbelievably good recipe and it is low in calories and filled with unbelievably healthy ingredients. UNBELIEVABLE! I swear!!! You are gonna' love it!!!
Directions: Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat * Saute onions until tender. And the garlic, too!* Stir in all the other incredible spices * Stir for one whole minute! * Mix in garbanzo beans with liquid. * Continue to cook and stir until all ingredients are well blended and heated through. * Remove from heat.
