"Two Legacies" Movie Screening
Saturday
, February 28 • 7:30 pm

Two Legacies a beautiful and tender movie by Israeli filmmaker Einat Kapach tells the story of her Yemenite grandparents Rabbi Yosef and Bracha Kapach who were married in Sana'a, Yemen at the age of 11, emigrated to Israel, and lived together for almost 70 years. The scholar and philosopher, Rabbi Karpach was a spiritual leader of Israel's Yemenite community while his wife founded and maintained numerous Tzedakah programs.

The movie unveils the story of a decades-long theological dispute among Yemenite Jewry long kept secret by Yosef, a central figure in this struggle, This 60 minute movie has received enthusiastic reviews in Israel and New York.

Congregation Beth El is sponsoring the first West Coast showing of "Two Legacies" on Saturday, February 28,2009 at 7:30 pm. Filmmaker Einat Kapach will be available to answer questions about her movie. A desert Oneg, including some traditional Yemenite treats, will be served after the movie. Childcare provided. A $5.00 per person contribution is requested. For more information about the film, please click here.

Please RSVP in order to ensure abundant food, drinks and seating for everyone!
