Good day, hello and ... I am slightly dazed and confused (even more than usual), as Peter and I returned to NuYawk last night, and OMG - we've been OOT for a few weeks, and where did the time go?  Seriously.  How does that happen? 

You put some big event on your calendar that appears to be so far into the future that you think that it is going to take forever for it to arrive, but then - suddenly - there it is - and there it went.  Mind-boggling, really.  Isn't it???

The passage of time, how we use time, and how to create time are topics worth considering - worth 'chewing on.'  My good friend and colleague Marney Makridakis from Artella Land is creating a mega-time event, which is celebrating the release of her new book, "Creating Time: Using Creativity to Reinvent the Clock and Reclaim Your Life."  

Marney's event is F*R*E*E and it includes audios from 25 Special Guest Luminaries on their New Visions of time!  And guess who is one of her luminaries!  ME, Janice Taylor! :)   I am in good company, for sure.  Other on her roster are Jennifer Louden, Eric Maisel, SARK and a host of other fabulous folk.   Be sure to sign on for the fun and free time fodder and then buy Marney's book.  I can't wait for my copy to arrive!  Another 'moment in time' that is sure not to disappoint! 

Otherwise, what's new?  Well ... I am working on a new program - that is based on (drum roll please) Joseph's Campbell's - The Hero's Journey and Star Wars.  No, I am not kidding.  I have outlined a program that is going to blow the lid off weight loss and change your perspective 1,000 percent (even though you really can't change more than 100%).   It is going to map out what you need to do to finally, once and for all, conquer the weighty challenge of permanent fat removal.

I can't tell you how excited I am to share my newest and best discovery, to date!  So keep a look out for the information and be sure to sign up for "The Hero's Weight Loss Journey ..." coming this spring from me to YOU!    I cannot wait!!!!   

If your excess weight is your nemesis, if it has been haunting you for more time than you'd like to admit, then start imagining what it will be like for that challenge to no longer be a problem.  Chew on that - while I finish the Hero's Journey to Sveltesville.  Ready yourself to take that Leap of Faith.  Woo hoo!

During my 'free-time' (more about time - there's no escaping time!!!), I went hiking in Sabino Canyon. It was amazing!!! Ah MAZE INGggggg.

 Interesting SLEEP faTOiDs

Approximately one-third of your life is spent sleeping, and the length and quality of your sleep directly affects your daily performance, your mood, and your entire waking life. If you're not sleeping on a healthy mattress with healthy bedding, then you're not living up to your full potential.

It takes about 7 minutes for the average person to fall asleep.

Anything less than five minutes to fall asleep at night means you're sleep deprived. The ideal is between 10 and 15 minutes, meaning you're still tired enough to sleep deeply, but not so exhausted you feel sleepy by day.

Scientists have not been able to explain a 1998 study showing a bright light shone on the backs of human knees can reset the brain's sleep-wake clock.

Seventeen hours of sustained wakefulness leads to a decrease in performance equivalent to a blood alcohol-level of 0.05%.

The 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill off Alaska, the Challenger space shuttle disaster, and the Chernobyl nuclear accident have all been attributed to human errors in which sleep-deprivation played a role.

The NRMA estimates fatigue is involved in one in 6 fatal road accidents.

Teenagers need as much sleep as small children (about 10 hrs) while those over 65 need the least of all (about six hours). For the average adult aged 25-55, eight hours is considered optimal.

Diaries from the pre-electric-light Victorian era show adults slept nine to 10 hours a night with periods of rest changing with the seasons in line with sunrise and sunsets.

Experts say one of the most alluring sleep distractions is the 24-hour accessibility of the internet.

The extra hour of sleep received when clocks are turned back at the end of daylight saving time has been found to coincide with a fall in the number of road accidents.
